The contingent policyholder must be at least 18 years old, be the spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent or grandchild of the existing policyholder and have an insurable interest in the insured person that is satisfactory to our company. Currently, this is limited to the insured person, their spouse, parents, children, grandparents, grandchildren or guardians.

No. The contingent policyholder is required to complete and submit the application form specified by the Company and provide the recognized supporting documents to the Company within 90 days after the death of the policyholder, and comply with the Company's relevant administrative procedures to apply for change of policyholder.

Yes. However, the Policyholder must also appoint a Contingent insured for the policy, otherwise the application for appointment of Contingent policyholder will be rejected.

No. The Policy only appoint one contingent policyholder and it must be confirmed and endorsed by our company to be vaild.

Application is not available for lapsed policy, assigned policy, policyholder is bankrupt, the policy is held by a corporate, the policy is held by joint policyholders, juvenile policy with appointed trustee, the policy has appointed irrevocable beneficiary, investment linked policy, QDAP policy, plan with family sharing benefit and/or extended care for children benefit.

No, the company will issue an endorsement or pending letter to the customer instead.

If the new policyholder is a mainland resident, they need to visit Hong Kong in person to complete the relevant procedures.
